From the Sun Bulletin - Binghamton, NY, Monday December 30, 1968:
"Led by 6 foot 8 Gary Sage, a giant who had failed to produce early in the season, the Warriors scored 63 points in the 16 minute second half to obliterate the reeling Meteors from Montrose. The loss was the third of the season for rookie coach Rich Lathrop's Montrose squad, which had suffered earlier defeats despite victories over Union Endicott and Catholic Central. Sage poured in 30 points and grabbed 32 rebounds, and with the help of Andy Sopchak, who netted 20, and Jerry Newby, who added 19, was able to keep the Warriors on to throughout the game. Sage ran away with tourney Most Valuable Player honors."
